What an inspirational video! According to the video what we do is more important than what we have, and we should do as much as possible during the time we have on earth with the resources we have. This video and our reading have to do with working with what we have and using it to make a difference. Whale Done is about setting up positive relationships built on trust. With these relationships, we should use positive reinforcement and redirection to get desired behaviors.
A very thought-provoking video. Very inspirational, indeed. I agree with ifg in the fact that in order to get those desired behaviors we do need to think about how we are building those relationships as described in Whale Done. We need to see people for who they are and remember that each individual person deserves to be treated positively in order to get our desired outcomes. Do we trust and are we being trusted? Building an encouraging environment with trust and positive relationships needs to be the basis of our classrooms if we want our students to be successful.
After watching the video, respect echoed in my mind. Both the book and video stress the importance of respect by acknowledging each person as important individual who makes positive contributions. So, slow down and take time to point out positive qualities in others.
